MOB ONLY – Ceremony of Cultural Rings

All Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people are invited to join us for a full day ceremony on Country at Wurdi Youang, comprising of traditional and contemporary elements and practices. The schedule for the day will be: 

• Sunrise ceremony (from 6am): A quiet gathering for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people to honour daybreak.
• Morning feed: Welcoming all members of the Wathaurong community to share in a meal, where Community can join in through the entire day and into the evening.
• Morning sessions: A variety of knowledge-sharing circles, including Language, Weaving, Feather Craft, Carving, Symbols, Contemporary Kinship, Star Mapping/Grasslands, Tracking.
• Midday feed: A communal meal to nourish and connect.
• Afternoon sessions: Dance workshops woven with Wrestling, Possum Ball, and Hoop Wallaby – embodying movement, play, and tradition.
• Evening feed: Opening the feast to the general public from 6pm, extending the warmth of Wathaurong hospitality to all – Roo three ways
• Sunset ceremony: A ceremonial closing led by a Knowledge Keeper, sharing stories of Country, Language, Lore, and Kinship, accompanied by the firekeepers tending to the ceremonial flames. 

Mob are welcome to attend at any time, however we do request booking for the sunset ceremony so that we can cater for numbers.
