Deadly Funny is Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s national comedy competition, unearthing the freshest and funniest First Nations talent from across the country. 

All you need is 2 – 5 minutes of hilarious material and you can perform as an individual, duo or trio. It can be stand-up, musical, sketch, physical/dance, character-based, or simply sharing a funny yarn.

You will also be given the opportunity to sit with a seasoned professional comedian in a 2-hour workshop to help refine your ideas further.

Rules:

• Deadly Funny is open to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders aged 18 and over
• Acts should be a 3-5 minute yarn max!
• Acts can be 1-3 people
• Routines must be original, if you share a joke we think we have heard before – we’ll let you know in the workshop.
