Under 14 Basketball Champions

After being postponed last year due to the flooding in Shepparton, in March 2023 we were finally able to head up to Yorta Yorta country to participate in the VACSAL Statewide Basketball Carnival.

With two senior men’s teams, an Under 14 Boys team, an Under 14 Girls team and an Under 10 Mixed team participating, we had plenty of families joining us for the weekend and having some fun playing basketball. A big thank you to all of our parent and community volunteers, coaches and team managers, and a HUGE congratulations to our deadly Under 14 Boys team who took out the championship! Malakai Walker also took out the grand final MVP for the Under 14 Boys as well. A great effort by all our teams across the weekend!

The VACSAL Statewide Basketball Carnival is not just about playing the sport – it’s about coming together with mob from all over the state, and connecting through Community and Culture. Check out the video below from some of our Wathaurong participants talking about what the weekend means to them!
