Serving up Stories
EVENT DATE: 17/04/2026
A Cultural Immersion Dinner Experience
Join us for an unforgettable evening of culture, connection and community at Serving Up Stories.
A powerful social enterprise created, developed and designed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.
This immersive dining experience will take you on a journey across the stories of our local lands and waterways. Through storytelling, you’ll learn about the Creation of Country, hear how the birds got their colours, and discover the story of how the blue-tongue lizard came to carry its striking blue tongue.
The night begins with a traditional Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country, grounding us in respect and connection. You’ll then enjoy a thoughtfully curated menu featuring traditional foods alongside familiar favourites infused with Indigenous flavours and flair along with having the privilege to experience the amazing teas of Blak brews.
To close the evening, guests will be invited to take part in a corroboree, a celebration of culture through movement, rhythm and shared experience.
Serving Up Stories has been dreamed, designed and brought to life by young mob from Wathaurongs Karroong Kanyool Youth Hub, with the support of Blak Brews and Malkar Cultural Services.
We invite you to come along for a night full of laughs, learning and a belly full of deadly food all while supporting the next generation of cultural leaders.
Please note – this is an alcohol free event.
