The Role
The aims of the Youth Project Officer are to provide individualized support to young people to facilitate and improve their cultural connection, education, health and wellbeing outcomes. The Youth Project Officer takes a primary prevention and early intervention approach to supporting young people. This includes undertaking proactive engagement of young people, needs assessment, referral and facilitated engagement between young people, families, and other services, as required. This role will be responsible for engaging young people on program development and delivery in a youth participation model. The Youth Project Officer will work with community and stakeholders to create programs and events that are relevant to the current needs of the current young people who are attending the service. This will include after school programs.
