The Role
The Therapeutic Specialist works collaboratively with Aboriginal children and young people who have experienced trauma, disrupted attachment, and abuse or neglect, to support their healing, cultural identity, stability and developmental progress. This role recognizes the importance of culture, connection to Country, community, and family as protective factors in the healing process for Aboriginal children and Young People.
The Therapeutic Specialist plays a key role in assessment, planning and delivery of therapeutic support, working alongside, carers, families, Child Protection, and other professionals to achieve culturally safe and positive outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people with complex needs.
